Lake Iseo located in the alpine Lombardy region of northern Italy and is another site where the RMSO has been implemented.
An international team of scientists from Italy and the United Kingdom led by Professor Jorg Imberger and Dr Clelia Marti completed field observations and installation of lake monitoring equipment in Lake Iseo as part of ongoing management of the lake. All deep sub-alpine lakes of Europe have become susceptible to the dual impact of climate warming and increased nutrient loading leading to faster oxygen depletion at depth posing a potential threat to the whole lake ecosystem. CWR's RMSO is now running at Lake Iseo and will provide a management framework to alleviate this threat.
