The RMSO provides real-time forecasting for water quality in Marina Reservoir that is being created by the construction of a barrage across the Marina Estuary. The multi-million dollar Marina Reservoir is part of the Singapore Government's commitment to create a new waterfront lifestyle for the city of Singapore, as well as provide flood control and water supply. The competing objectives of the reservoir therefore require a sophisticated management response, particularly as the catchment is predominantly urban and therefore contains high levels of pollutants. The RMSO provides a web based management system to optimize water usage.
